Too cute

So, I've been working with Mason lately on memorizing the Articles of Faith. For those not familiar, the Articles of Faith are a set of 13 statements that outline the main beliefs of our religion. In Primary on Sundays, we work on one Article of Faith per month, going over it each Sunday and singing the accompanying song. By the way, aren't those songs hysterical? The Articles of Faith don't rhyme or anything, so they don't make very catchy song lyrics. But the songs do help you learn the Articles of Faith, so I guess they do their job. But I digress.

Mason has a great memory, so I thought he might like to work on them with me. So far, he's pretty into it. Last night at family home evening, Mason announced he wanted to practice his Article of Faith with me. We worked on it a little bit, and then I asked Danny if he wanted to give it a try. Here is how our exchange went down:

Me: Repeat after me, Danny. "We believe"
Dan: We beweive
Me: "in God"
Dan: in God
Me: "the Eternal Father"
Dan: de eternal fahver
Me: "and in His Son"
Dan: and in hith thon
Me: "Jesus Christ"
Dan: Amen!

He's so accustomed to following "Jesus Christ" with "Amen" that he just stopped us right there. It was so cute. He refuses to repeat the rest of the first Article of Faith. He's convinced that's the end!

Here's the entire text, by the way:

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

And here's a link to all the Articles of Faith, if you'd like to study up with us!

That is so sweet. I love how kids can be so matter-of-fact.

How cute! Taylor adds an extra Holy to Holy ghost. Don't know how that got in there.
