A week ago, the temperature finally rose above 70 degrees! We threw our (new) windows open and the boys spent the bulk of the day outside. I must confess, we're ready for spring!
First, the quintessential tools of boyhood: dirt, shovels, and a digger.See our fence in action, corralling the boys!
Soon, we broke out the sidewalk chalk and the real mess began:
I have to explain here. Daniel is stripped down to a t-shirt, diaper and socks because his other clothes were covered in dirt and he wanted to sit in his daddy's truck. Brandon removed his dirty clothes, and somehow we never put any more clothes on him. I know, it looks a little trashy. Just keeping it real, folks.Oh my. Someone put some clothes on that boy.
Mason did his best to coat himself in chalk and dirt. Mission accomplished, Mace.
We ended the day with fruit, baked beans, and hot dogs on the grill. We're ready for you, spring!

I'm sorry that winter has such a death grip on all my friends out there! I wish you warm spring days and sunshine from now on!
I am sooo jealous. 70 sounds like a heatwave to me. Yesterday we reached 50 and we were taking off our jackets saying, "Wow, it's warm!!" I can't wait for the kids to play in the dirt-- it is just pure mud right now.
It sounds just like our day today! Hurray for Spring! I love it!! Yes, I think we must have hit at least 70 degrees too because at one point, I thought "I'm hot!" and I froze in my tracks because I couldn't remember the last time I'd thought that. We ended the day covered in dirt and chalk, too!
Wow, 70 degrees! We think it's been warm here when it's above 40. The other day it was 50 and I drove around with the windows down and a t-shirt on because I was "hot".
