Mmmm. Chocolate.

A few months ago, we had a little chocolate party with some of our old friends. I was just looking through pictures and realized I never shared any. So here we go.

I started this tradition a few years back, and this was my third annual chocolate and game night. We had some cancellations this year, so our numbers were lower than usual. As a result, our traditional "how well do you know your spouse" game was a little less exciting, but fun nonetheless.

As much as I love chocolate, I'm thinking this may have been our last big party. For one thing, my chocolate fountain just doesn't work very well. It never has. At first I thought it was me - that I'd assembled it incorrectly or something - but now I know it's just the machine. The Rival doesn't quite get the job done. The chocolate never makes a clean sheet as it flows, because the internal auger is not stably mounted in the base. The auger knocks against the plastic enclosure and makes a racket, too. Bummer.

For another thing, the clean-up is horrendous. That machine has a lot of parts, all of which are eventually coated in melted chocolate. It's a bit of a pain. But it smells divine.

Here was our table, decked out with every yummy thing you can dip in chocolate:

And here's me, taking a taste before everyone showed up.

Just kidding. Did I scare anyone just now?

MMM, looks good! I know about the chocolate clean-up, and I agree, not the funnest thing to do! Sounds like a fun party though!

Despite the noisy, wobbly Rival, the chocolate is till good. And despite your picture, it's probably the cleanest chocolate fountain any of us have eaten from. We love it but I can understand the big bummer clean up must be.

What a great idea! I love the idea of a chocolate party. I've heard that about the fountains too~ a mess to clean. My kids would've played in it til it fell off the table or something horrendous like that. Looks like you had fun!
