I took the kids to get their pictures taken on Saturday. I was a little conflicted about this - Brandon has a very nice camera and takes really good pictures. However, Brandon has about a zillion things on his plate right now, and I didn't want to burden him with one more thing. Also, I sometimes think the kids cooperate better for strangers when it comes to pictures, so I hauled us all over to the studio. I'm glad I got it done, although it was a bit stressful and required a little bribery to secure the boys' participation.
Mainly, I wanted to get a picture of Holland in this pink and white gingham dress I wore as a baby. My mom had my picture taken in it when I was 5 months old:
She saved it all these years, along with lots of other baby clothes. A few months ago, she gave me the big tub of clothes and as we were looking through it, she mentioned it would be cute to get Holland's picture taken in the same dress I wore for my 5 month photo shoot. An idea was born!
Holland turns 6 months old this week (how can that be?!?), so she is a few weeks older than I was when I wore the dress. Still, I think it turned out great! We also used my vintage crocheted baby blanket as a prop.
They took the boys' pictures as well, but their individual shots weren't that great. I was also looking for a group picture of the three of them. Let's just say, that was an exercise in frustration! It was incredibly difficult to get all three kids smiling and looking in the same direction at the same time. In fact, I'd say it was fairly impossible. This was one of the best group shots of the day:
Holland cooperated just enough to get some adorable shots. I can't believe my baby turns 6 months old this week!

Absolutely adorable kids!! I love the pink gingham dress! That is so sweet!
We just did the picture thing, too. My almost 2 year old kept bolting clear out of the store-- down the hall right to the main exit. No wonder I only ever go once a year-- if I am lucky enough to even find the courage to go ONCE!!
Cute, cute, cute!
Oh my goodness can you imagine if Holland decides to do this too 20+ years down the line! Perfect tradition.
